Matchaya bids farewell to Nsanje district council

Authorities in Nsanje on Friday discribed outgoing District Commissioner, Dr Medson Matchaya as a developmental conscious person.

Director of Planning and Development at the council Smith Mnenula said Matchaya’s leadership has sharpen secretariate members at the council on how best they can serve people in the district.

“Colleagues, building a team is not an easy task. The outgoing DC has led us in building up the team which is capable of delivering what the people of Nsanje want,” he added.

On his part, senior Chief Malemia discribed Matchaya as a true states man who always wished to see the district making progress in terms of development.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsanje South West, Eurita Mtiza also praised Matchaya for his developmental conscious.

On her part, Nsanje District Council, Chairperson, Rose Makiyi also hailed Matchaya for his visionary leadership.

Speaking during the farewell party, the new District Commissioner for Nsanje, Dominic Mwandira said the farewell party which was organized by members of the council, is an indication that Matchaya had good working relationship with the people.

In his speech, Matchaya thanked Nsanje district council secretariate for unweavering support they rendered during his tenure of office.

He therefore urged people in the district to give support to the new DC as one way of smooth implementation of the projects.

During the party, the council also bid farewell to some members of the council namely; the Chief Accountant officer who has been posted to Zomba, District Registration Officer and District youth officer both have been posted to Mulanje District.
