Organization donates food items to dry spell survivors in Karonga

Pamoza Tingakwaniska Organization has supported households that were affected by the dry spell in Karonga with assorted food items .

Since last week, the organisation has reached out to over 85 households in Vinthukutu Extension Planning Area (EPA) under Traditional Authority Wasambo.

Speaking in an interview, Program’s Manager for the organization, Gomezgani Mhango said the organization thought of intervening to mitigate the impact of the dry spell on the affected households.

“We have managed to donate assorted items such as 50 kgs of maize, 5kgs Soya bean, 1 liter of cooking oil and 1 kg of kitchen salt per household,” he said.

Karonga District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, Shepherd Jere advised the survivors against selling the food items they received, saying the behaviour discourages those who are willing to assist.

Jere appealed to more well wishers to come forward with support as there are still more people who need help.

One of the beneficiaries Ediken Ndovi applauded the organisation saying their gusture symbolizes love.
