Paramount Holdings Limited Donates Beds And Medical Equipments To Area 25 Health Centre

Officials at Area 25 Health Centre have revealed that the facility has started recording few cases of cholera compared to how the situation was two months ago.

In an interview after receiving beds and other medical equipment from Paramount Holdings Limited, the facility in-charge, Shareef Rajab, said in February, they were admitting over 50 cases of cholera but at the moment they have less than five.

On February 6, angry residents of Mgona vandalised the facility’s cholera treatment unit following the death of a cholera patient.

Paramount Holdings Limited Director of Operations, Nickson Nkhata, says they have made the donation, whose total value is K3 million, in response to President Lazarus Chakwera’s appeal following the vandalism.

Lilongwe District Council Director of Health and Social Services, Wilson Ching’ani, urged the officials to “take very good care of the donation” and further appealed to the community to support the health workers in taking care of the infrastructure and all the equipment.
