Phiri Wins Gold In Mozambique

Local Taekwondo star, Stain Phiri has won a gold medal at the Matola Championship which took place in Maputo, Mozambique.

Phiri won the medal in the Poomsae Senior Black Belt Category, beating Mozambican Abdul Junior in the final on Saturday.

However, his quest for a second gold medal was halted by another Mozambican, Joaquim Zandamela in the semifinals of the Kyrougi fight, with Phiri blaming it on foul attacks from his opponent.

Phiri is no stranger to success, having won two gold medals at the Korean Ambassador Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa last year.
