Podcast Hand Over K450,000 Cheque To Artist Njuchi

Podcast Malawi has today handed over a K450,000 cheque to Reggae Dancehall artist Chizmo Njuchi at a ceremony which took place at Podcast’s studios in Lilongwe.

It follows an online fundraiser organised by the platform meant to raise one year house rentals for the artist, who revealed in a podcast how he had been struggling to make enough money to support his basic needs.

Podcast Malawi is a local YouTube channel that gives platform to different people to tell stories about their lives and what they do.

Chizmo shared harsh realities that a lot of artists in the industry face in their struggle to make ends meet, the development that made Podcast Malawi to step in and engaged fans into an online donation campaign.

Besides the donation, the initiative has also connected the artist to ongoing capacity building, resources and opportunities growth.

Denis Imaan, who is the Podcast’s host, appreciated all the individuals who contributed to the artist
