Chakwera lays wreath at Mozambique’s National Monument

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Friday laid a wreath at a Heroes acre in Mozambique.

The national monument was constructed to commemorate Mozambique’s independence war which took place in 1974.

A year later, in 1975, Mozambique gained independence and the monument holds the remains of FRELIMO’S founding president, Eduardo Mondlane and Mozambique’s first president, Samora Machel.

Chakwera is in Mozambique for four days official duties.“`
