The Governance and Human Rights Advocates have condemned the act of stoning President Lazarus Chakwer’s convoy, saying it fosters anarchy and undermines the authority of the presidency.
This comes after an incident in Chikwawa on Thursday, where angry citizens threw stones at a fleet of vehicles carrying Chakwera.
The Governance and Human Rights Advocate, Undule Mwakasungula has told Timveni Online that the act of attacking a Presidential motorcade represents a serious threat to the rule of law, peace, and unity.
Mwakasungula says the incident requires further investigation, and those responsible for inciting the attack should be held accountable.
Another Advocate, Wonderful Mkhuche says the behavior is unacceptable and action must be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future.
