Abida Mia Donates Assorted Food Items To Elderly

The government has called on people in the country to take care of the elderly, saying they deserve respect and protection.

Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Mia, made the call on Saturday, when she donated assorted food items to 400 elderly people in Chikwawa Nkombedzi Constituency.

Mia, who is also the Member of Parliament for the area, said, “Caring for the elderly and protecting them from all forms of violence and abuse should be a collective responsibility.”

Senior Chief Ngabu of the district thanked Mia for providing food items to the elderly, calling it a good gesture worthy of emulation.

The donated food items included flour, sugar, salt, and soya pieces.
