Activist Pastor Moses Shumba-the Lion of Judah, has sent a strong warning to Karonga residents against alleged plans by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to chase Karonga based rights activist Lytone Mangochi accusing him of speaking bad against President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP government.
Pastor Shumba has reminded those behind the scheme of chasing Mangochi out of Karonga or threatening him to stop activism against the MCP not to forget that their brothers and sisters are not only in Kaonga but almost in each and every district of Malawi.
He said Lytone Mngochi is one of the courageous activists in the northern region who has rejected to be in the armpits of the MCP just as the MCP has done with other activists who cannot speak against the pain and sufferings Malawians are going through after being silenced with money from the MCP.
Speaking through an audio clip, Pastor Shumba has also reminded Malawians that last time Mangochi was kidnapped in the middle of the night by unknown people pretending to be allegedly soldiers of the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) in Karonga.
Pastor Shumba said he is expecting that the same people are the ones that have warned Mangochi that they are coming to his house to chase him out of Karonga district on the claims that he is teaching children of Karonga bad morals of insulting President Chakwera and his MCP government.
According to Pastor Shumba, the warning which has gone to Mangochi has praised former activist of the Northern Region Undule Mwakasungula that he has not spoken anything bad of Chakwera and his MCP saying this could be a good lesson for Mangochi to borrow a leaf.
He has asked those that are behind chasing Mangochi that the time of Mwakasungula is over, if he praises President Chakwera and his MCP, thy should not expect that genuine activists who are standing with the people can clap their hands for nonsense.
The activist has asked those prepared to chase Mangochi to do so at their own risk and should know that their conduct will pay for the fruits to their fellow Karonga’s living in other districts of the country as they will also be forced to go back to Karonga district.
“The time of dictatorship are over, in 1994 Malawians made a declaration that never and ever shall their country go back to one-party state and dictatorship,” said Pastor Shumba.
He has claimed that Paramount Chief Kyungu is one of the chiefs respected in the country and cannot support MCP plans of chasing an activist from the district because he has not joined the bandwagon of praising team for Chakwera.
