Social commentator Dr. Samuel Lwara has claimed that stupid politics which is being played by the MCP led government of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is destroying the existing friendly relationship between Malawi and her neighbors including Tanzania.
Lwara has described the ban on agricultural produce between Malawi and Tanzania as not well calculated advising the MCP to hold an emergency meeting to reverse the decision made in an as soon as yesterday looking at the goods which are stuck in trucks in the Songwe border.
He said there is no way one man, a minister Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba to be the at the helm of destroying the good relationship which has for years been existing announcing the ban on all agricultural imports from Tanzania.
Speaking through an audio clip, Lwara has said what Minister Mumba has done has exposed to the world that the country’s leadership of President Chakwera is poor and has been sleeping on duty for 5 years, ministers are doing what it pleases them.
Lwara said Malawi has no mega farms for bananas observing that the country’s markets have no supply for bananas just because of one person imposing a ban on agricultural imports from Tanzania accusing President Chakwera of speaking nothing of what his minister has done.
He said while it is sad that the country has no supply of bananas in all of its markets, President Chakwera is busy at the State House meeting useless people such as women, youth and the clergy who cannot in any way help him build the country apart from rigging the 16th September, 2025 elections.
The social commentator said Malawians pretend too much that they are a good country saying Vitumbiko Mumba has shaken the whole country even MCP itself is divided fighting for a position in Mzimba central constituency and running mate to President Chakwera.
He has questioned the whole MCP camp that who is this Mumba a cabinet minister to influence a ban in agricultural inputs between Malawi and the economically rich country, Tanzania saying what Mumba has done requires a leader with economic background like Dr. Dalitso Kabambe not President Chakwera.
“The MCP and President Chakwera must hold an emergency meeting, Vitumbiko Mumba to be fired and the whole MCP cabinet be reshuffled for putting to shame the name of Chakwera,” said Lwara.
He has noted with a great concern that there is no one in the MCP who has faulted Mumba wrong for his decision claiming that all are clapping hands that Mumba has done a good thing worth a loud applause, saying Malawi is a sick nation.
