The public is anxiously waiting on President Lazarus Chakwera to act on the Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba for allegedly being involved in dubious fuel deals.
Zamba is alleged to have pressurized National Oil Company of Malawi-NOCMA former Acting deputy CEO, Hellen Buluma, to award fuel supply contracts to a list of companies without following procedures.

This was revealed by Buluma yesterday when she appeared before the parliamentary Public Appointments Committee–PAC.
Buluma claimed that Zamba forced her to involve a person identified as ‘Chief’ from Nigeria and a Malawian based motivational speaker, Evalista Kamwangala to offer them fuel contracts.
Chakwera has previously fired and suspended several top government officials over alleged misconduct including Zamba’s predecessor Zangazanga Chikhosi, former energy minister Newton Kambala, former Lands Minister Kezzi Msukwa, even Vice President Saulos Chilima who was stripped off his delegated duties.
Owing to the revelations that Buluma made yesterday, the public is waiting on Chakwera to act.
