Malawi President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has arrived in Lusaka, Zambia where he is attending the 22nd Comesa Heads of State and Government Summit.
Chakwera was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Nancy Tembo and other top officials from Malawi and Zambia.
At the meeting, Chakwera will make a maiden statement along with other Heads of State and Government from Kenya and Libya.
After the meeting, the president is expected to hold bilateral talks with other Heads of State present at the event.
Among other highlights of the meeting, the current Chairperson of COMESA Abdel Fattah El-Sisi President of the Arab Republic of Egypt will hand over the mantle to President of the Republic of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema, after taking up the role from Madagascar in 2021.
