NRFL Winds Up Cluster Stage In Style

The Northern Region Football League (NRFL) has reached an exciting milestone with the completion of the cluster stage games for the 2024 Simso Mzuzu-12 tournament.

According to the Association’s General Secretary Masiya Nyasulu, the top two teams from each cluster have successfully qualified for the final phase, where they will compete for the coveted promotion to the Super League.

Nyasulu, expressed gratitude to all participating teams for their efforts and sportsmanship throughout the cluster stage.

“We thank all teams for their efforts and we look forward to an exciting final phase,” Nyasulu stated.

Commenting on the completion of the cluster stage games the Sports Director for Tafika Sports Academy Shupo Nyirenda hailed the professional management of the game while expressing hope that his team will do well.

“It’s been tough, but the most exciting. Honestly the management of the league is just very professional and encouraging,” said Shupo.

Meanwhile the Northern Region Football Association has expressed hope that the final phase promises to be a most thrilling contest as the qualified teams vie for the top spot and the opportunity to be promoted to the Super League.

Their statement states that the details of the schedule and fixtures for the final phase will be released soon.

And this is how they stand : Cluster A
• Qualified for Last Phase: Chilumba Barracks and Songwe Border United
• Banned: Karonga Giants (for failing to fulfill their fixtures)
• Play-Offs: Chitipa Galaji
Cluster B
• Qualified for Last Phase: Ekwaiweni TSA and Lube Masters
• Relegated: Mzuni
• Play-Offs: Ekwendweni Harnockers
Cluster C
• Qualified for Last Phase: Chintheche United and Eagle Strikers
• Relegated: Simbowe Stars
• Play-Offs: Chizumulu United
Cluster D
• Qualified for Last Phase: Raiply FC and Jenda United
• Relegated: Euthini Pirates
• Play-Offs: Sporting FC
