The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has emphasized the importance of integrity and professionalism among Malawian FIFA referees as they prepare for the 2025 season.
FAM President Fleetwood Haiya made the appeal on Sunday at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach, where he presented FIFA badges to 16 referees who have been included in the 2025 FIFA list.
“Let me remind you to maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, both on and off the pitch emphasising that their conduct would not only reflect on themselves but also on the country and the Football Association of Malawi,” said Haiya.
The FAM president stated that the presentation ceremony marks an important milestone in the preparation of Malawian referees for the upcoming season.
The 2025 FIFA referee list comprises 16 referees, including five center referees, nine assistant referees, and two beach soccer referees.
The list features four female referees and 12 male referees. New entrants to the list include Mayamiko Kanjere, David Chinoko, Sibusiso Sibande, and others.
By presenting the FIFA badges, FAM officially recognized the referees’ inclusion in the 2025 FIFA list, enabling them to officiate international matches.
