Veteran freedom fighter and activist Kamlepo Kalua, says he felt sorry with the passing of the recent electoral amendment bill describing it as the beginning of MCP vote rigging scheme for the 16th September, 2025 elections.
Kalua said Section 67 of the Constitution empowers the President to summon Members of Parliament to an emergency house to reconvene on some important bills and Section 5 empowers Members of Parliament (MPs) to nullify any law that is deeming to infringe the interests of people in the society.
He said some opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) protested heavily against this amendment of the electoral law suggesting for a boycott but this did not happen only to realize in the end that the MCP vote rigging scheme has started.
The freedom fighter has warned the Electoral body that all of their plans to help the MCP rig the 16th September, 2025 elections, will not work assuring it that Malawians are not sleeping, they are all awake and the towers which have been tampered have been identified.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalua has appealed to each and every patriotic citizen to wake up and be alert on any suspicious move by those in authorities suspected of being part of MCP vote rigging scheme saying Malawians will be told to monitor such suspected towers.
Kalua has sent a special appeal to the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) not to contend this rigging scheme saying Malawi is their country of survival and there is no way the elections can be rigged as if them are not Malawians.
He said all the polling stations will be heavily monitored by opposition party members to make sure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, transparent and credible manner that those that planned for vote rigging scheme will not be given chance of finding their way in with their evil plans.
The freedom fighter said if the Army and Police will for the MCP, they should come to kill all the people with their guns because Malawians will not tolerate any power from darkness to rule them and have vowed in their hearts that enough is enough with the MCP.
He has reminded Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja that all Malawian eyes will be on her that Malawians fought for hard-won democracy to survive and not to die a natural death as the MCP is wishing.
Kalua said it is the prayer of each and every Malawian to see to it that Mec preside over a free and fair elections 2025 for the winner to celebrate responsibly and for the losers to accept defeat honorably and praise the Lord for good elections.
“This September, 2025 elections is a shared project, let it be free and fair for all to praise the Lord and not others to live in frustrations,” said Kalua.
