Kalindo Endorses UTM Manifesto as the Best Ahead of Malawi 2025 Elections

By Vincent Gunde

Malawi, Political activist Bon Kalindo, has rated the United Transfo rmation Movement’s (UTM) manifesto as the best on the land because it contains answers to the welfare of the people and if the leaders implement it as written, Malawi cannot be the same.

Kalindo said the way the speakers were articulating points of their manifesto, it spoke loud that the UTM was well prepared and is ready to govern the country and it will be up to the electorate themselves to choose the best of the best.

He has lamented over the absence of fellow opposition parties such as the DPP, AFORD, PP and other opposition parties saying if it time of parties presenting their manifestos, all political parties must attend for knowledge sharing.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said many Malawians after receiving news that the DPP and UTM have agreed to work together to monitor the electoral processes to ensure free and fair elections, thought that the deal for the UTM to join the DPP has been sealed.

Kalindo said it is sad that these two parties DPP and UTM did not have time to discuss about where the country is going so that they come together for a grand opposition alliance to oust President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and the MCP from power on the 16th September, 2025 elections.

He has asked opposition leaders that are they aware of a Tally centre located at the senior officers’ mess at the National Police headquarters in Lilongwe and that there will be police officers from the central region to man polling centres in the Eastern and Southern Regions?

The activist said to counter-attack MCP rigging scheme, it needs all the opposition parties to come together to form a grand opposition alliance warning them that failure to meet for one unity of purpose, they are giving chance to the devil to win the 16th September, 2025 elections.

He said the MCP and Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec)are going in villages in the southern region of Malawi that there will be a new electronic device on the polling day to check the voter’s finger prints, asking opposition leaders that are they aware of this?
“If you will be checking the finger prints on your electronic device, what is the use of voter registration certificate? Questioned Kalindo.

On a sad note, Kalindo has accused Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale for doing nothing ever since he was appointed into office claiming that fertilizer prices are skyrocketing at nobody’s care and the country do not know where fertilizer will come from.

Kalindo has again praised Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba as a game changer claiming that when he sees a problem, he follows it up for action as compared to Kawale who is just sitting in the office as if someone is working on his behalf.

He said the other Minister is Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda for Health, she is heading a Ministry which is failing to procure medical drugs in hospitals claiming that the country has no drugs for Asthma, BP, TB, people are just dying every hour at the Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe.

Kalindo has expressed fears that if patients are just dying at the referral Kamuzu Central Hospital, what about in the rural areas observing that the MCP led government under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has no welfare of the citizens at heart what only they know is corruption and thieving in government.
