A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has called on all peace- loving members and supporters of the MCP to accept elections defeat for the country to move forward.
Kamphangala said it is sad that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has up to this day not accepted the defeat meaning that he is continuously being deceived as the case before that MCP is heading to a victory through court battles.
He has described the press briefing which was held by MCP running mate Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba on Friday night as time wasting and useless advising Mumba to keep quiet, he is an intruder in the party and he shoulders MCP elections defeat.
During the presser, Engineer Mumba said the MCP has launched formal complaint with Mec demanding for audit of the votes counted in the just ended 16th September, 2025 elections saying the party and its members are not fighting for victory but justice.
Kamphangala said it is the MCP which has been influencing Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja to reject auditing of the voters’ roll questioning Mumba that today, after losing the elections is when he has realized the importance of auditing.
He has challenged the MCP that even if the court can order for a Re-Run to be held today, the party will lose the election and those that did not vote on the 16th September, 2025 including the dead will rise up to vote out the MCP without mercy.
“Election observers, party monitors at polling stations already declared the elections as free and fair, MCP is trying to buy time so that they remain to be in power,” said Kamphangala.
He said the mandate of MCP running the country ended on the 16th September, 2025 and as such, MCP has no powers to bring the country to a standstill saying the people themselves have spoken loud and clear that enough is enough with them.
The MCP diehard has appealed to the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) to intervene in this situation by siding with Malawians that spoke on the 16th September, 2025 that they want their country to be ruled by a proven leadership of Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
He said if the MCP is rejecting the election results, it should go back to the figures recorded by its monitors in various polling stations across the country and not constituency tally centres for the truth to prevail that Professor Mutharika won the elections by over 60 plus percent majority rule.
Kamphangala has finally asked junior officers in the army to join hands by chasing away the failed MCP led government of President Chakwera for the will of the people to be respected observing that the country cannot go for the Re-Run when a clear winner was already decided by the voters themselves.
