Soon after Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja declared candidate Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika the winner in the 16th September, 2025 elections, Malawians took to the streets celebrating the day that the will of the people has been respected.
Malawians living in South Africa joined their fellows at home by over celebrating forgetting that they are living in a foreign country and this made South African police and Home Affairs officials to round up them for arrests.
These Malawians have joined their fellows at Lindela Camp serving imprisonment for being found in South Africa illegally as they have no supporting documents to show claiming that many have their passport expired, some with fake passports and others have nothing.
Karonga based rights activist Comrade Lytone Mangochi has asked Professor Mutharika that soon after taking Oath of Office, he should send buses to South Africa to pick up those Malawians wishing to come back home.
Mangochi said previously, the DPP did the same gesture, appealing to Malawians living in South Africa to get prepared to come back home because the dictator they have been afraid of is no more in government,
He said time of slavery Malawians have faced for 5 years of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera have ended with the dictator buried alive hence there is no need for them to continue suffering in South Africa, there gardens are waiting for them at home for cultivations.
“0n 16th September, 2025 we sent the dictator to an early grave, he will not rise back again to rule the people in Malawi,” said Mangochi.
He has urged the new government to urgently clean-up the mess created by the failed MCP government through arresting and prosecuting all those that were employed to be terrorizing and hacking innocent people in Malawi.
Mangochi has also called on government to conduct head count on all that have secured new jobs during the 5 years of President Chakwera and the MCP claiming that many are under- qualification and others are there under the sponsorship of being party loyalists.
He has assured Professor Mutharika that Malawians do not want to go to the streets to force government to arrest and prosecute these suspects whose identities are well-known saying all the peoples’ eyes are on the DPP government.
“Whoever stole money from the poor in the previous government must be arrested and return the money, this is not witch-hunting, Malawians themselves are witch-hunting on these evil people,” said Mangochi.
He has finally urged Malawians to support Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika saying he has a huge task to perform including an inquest surrounding the death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima, advising Malawians that without their support to this government, the truth surrounding Dr. Chilima’s death will be seen .
