Chaponda Empowers Mulanje South West with Major Support to Mosques and Community Leaders

Mulanje South West today witnessed yet another strong demonstration of servant leadership as the Honourable Dr. George T. Chaponda, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for the area, personally met people from his constituency in a highly impactful engagement.

During the meeting, Dr. Chaponda delivered tangible support aimed at strengthening religious institutions and easing the work of community leaders. He distributed prayer mats to over 100 mosques across the constituency, while sheikhs from different mosques also benefited from power banks and motorcycles—tools expected to significantly improve their mobility and daily operations.

Speaking to the gathering, the Honourable Chaponda emphasized the importance of unity, trust and collective responsibility among the people of Mulanje South West, noting that development can only be achieved when communities work together in harmony.

The donations were received with excitement and gratitude. One of the sheikhs who received a motorcycle described the gesture as life-changing, saying the bike will greatly reduce transport challenges he has long faced while serving Allah and attending to mosque duties.

Residents praised Dr. Chaponda for his hands-on leadership style and continued commitment to uplifting the welfare of his constituents. Many noted that his interventions go beyond words, focusing on practical solutions that directly address the needs of the community.

Dr. Chaponda is expected to continue engaging with people across Mulanje South West as he intensifies efforts to deliver more development projects aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening social institutions in the constituency.
