Counsel Silvester Ayuba James who is also Nkhotakota central constituency legislator, has complained that some kids who he is paying them school fees have been kept out of the classroom for a whole week and a day or two because he was broke.

Ayuba James said he tried to plead with the administrations , they could not sympathize with him saying he felt helpless to the poor orphans and he was left a very angry person.

Writing on his face book page, Ayuba James said he got some money yesterday, he went to pay for the children by doing Mathematics dividing the amount of fees by the number of week days in the term.

He said the Mathematics took him to the tuition fee payable per day, and multiplied that daily amount by the number of days his wards stayed out of classroom.

The lawyer said he deposited the fees minus that amount, to those going to the private schools, and for those at boarding schools, he subtracted the number of days the children have been denied boarding meals.

” I deposited all amounts that I found payable upon those deductions, notifying each school that fees have been paid while attaching the receipts in respect of each of them,” said Ayuba James.

He said four of the schools called him that the fees are not enough indicating the difference he deducted as the outstanding amount saying the bursar’s are insisting that he should pay the full amounts.

Ayuba James said he has challenged the bursar’s of the four schools to take the matter to court and that if they dare to send his wards away, he will sue them.

He has questioned the schools that why should he pay for the service or commodity that a beneficiary of his bursary did not enjoy, iwowo chomwe amatulutsa mwana mkalasi ndi chiyani when they knew that they will demand the whole amount of fees?
” Iyiyi ikathera kuwaya, sindiimva!!!!, reads Ayuba James’s writings on the wall.

A concerned citizen of Malawi residing at Area 51 in Lilongwe Mrs. Elizabeth Kaliza Banda, has thanked Counsel Ayuba James for enlightening parents and guardians who their children have been kept out of the classroom and when they come back, they are asked to pay full amount of school fees as if they were in classroom for the whole term.

Kaliza Banda said this a lesson from a mistake by the schools who keeps students outside classroom for the whole month for lacking school fees and when they come back, they are charged to pay the whole amount forgetting that the whole month, they were outside classrooms.

She said since Ayuba James has challenged the schools bursar’s to take him to court and that his kids should not be kept outside classroom, Malawians are awaiting the outcome of the situation in a win, win approach.

” Thank you counsel Ayuba James for enlightening Malawians that schools need to consider half payment of school fees for children who have been kept outside classrooms because in these days, they are not learning,” said Kaliza Banda.
