Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe launches Centenary Bank Limited

Centenary Group, the holding company of Centenary Bank, Uganda’s second largest bank, together with the Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe, have finally launched the Centenary Bank Limited in Lilongwe.

The launch follows the acquiring of 100% stakes in MyBucks Banking Corporation of Malawi, a process that was completed last year.

The launch is being graced by a delegation from Uganda Episcopal Conference led by Bishop Anthony Joseph Zzizwa, Reserve Bank of Malawi Deputy Governor William Matambo, Lilongwe Archdiocese Bishop and Bishop President of Episcopal Conference of Malawi Archbishop George Desmond Tambala among several deginatories.

The Lilongwe Archdiocese is the first religious institution to own a bank in Malawi.
