HRDC Query Appointment Of Retired Brigadier Kalumo

The Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC), Chairsperson Robert Mkwezalamba has queried President Lazarus Chakwera’s appointment of a retired Brigadier General, Charles Kalumo as the new head of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services.

Mkwezalamba says, the move is retrogressive in as far as promoting the youth and serving members of the department with institutional memory is concerned to offer clear strategic direction.

State House press secretary Anthony Kasunda and Secretary to the President and Cabinet were not available to comment on the appointment.
