KCH Has Gas Plant

Lives of patients requiring oxygen could be saved at the Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe following the official opening of a gas plant at the facility on Thursday.

Health Minister, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, who presided over the official opening, indicated the plant has the capacity to fill over 20 cylinders within 24 hours.

The gas plant is located in the isolation side of the hospital.

Germany Ambassador to Malawi Ralph Timmermann said the gas plant would help in saving lives of not only COVID-19 patients requiring oxygen.

He further announced a donation of 12 Million Euros from the Germany government expected to help in the COVID-19 vaccination campaigns across the country.
