OXFAM Hands Over Njale Water System In Thyolo

On Friday 22nd,July,2022,Ms Lingalireni Mihowa who is the Oxfarm Country Director officially handed over the Njale Reticulated water system in Thyolo Thava Constituency whose Member of Parliament is Hon Mary Thom Navicha.

The area has been facing water problems for a number of years.

Guest of honor at the event was Hon Clara Makungwa who thanked Ms Lingalireni Mihowa for a well-done job that Oxfam is doing in this country more especially to the constituencies whose representatives are women.

The project has been fully funded by the Oxfarm.

In her remarks,Ms Lingalireni Mihowa hailed the people of the area for voting a woman in the just ended Tripartite Elections which were held in 2019.She further said that as Oxfarm Country Director she will be helping develop the area with numerous projects.

She also donated Six bicycles,School bags and other assorted items to the school going girls.

MP for the area Hon Mary Thom Navicha expressed her gratitude to Ms Lingalireni Mihowa Country Director for bringing in a water project that will cover thousands of her constituents and she is happy that her Constituency has tapped water courtesy of Oxfarm.

Other notable figures attended the function were Member of Parliament for Zomba Malosa Hon Grace Kwelepeta, Thyolo DC and Govt officials,Ward Councilors,Snr Chief Mphuka,DPP party members and among others.
