Pacific Limited saves Malawians trillions of hours spent in search of portable water, says Veronica Mwale
In a bid to make access to portable water easy in Malawi, Pacific Limited has already rehabilitated over one million boreholes non functional country wide,
Mean time Pacific borehole rehabilitation team has already rehabilitated 30 boreholes out of 80 non-functional boreholes in Balaka West Constituency.
In an interview with one of the residents in Balaka West Constituency, Veronica Mwale hailed Pacific Limited for the borehole rehabilitation project dubbing it as a life saving initiative.
Mwale said “For the past years we have faced several challenges to access portable water. We had to spend more hours travelling long distances in search of water and most of the people were prone to waterborne diseases like Cholera and Diarrhea. But with Pacific Limited rehabilitating boreholes, it’s now easy for us to access portable water,”.
On her part, Balaka West Constituency Member of Parliament said the project will help people in the constituency to be productive as they will not need to travel long distances in search for water.
She said portable water will bar her constituents to suffer from waterborne diseases like Cholera.
The Honourable Member has since commended Pacific Limited on this much needed initiative.
Pacific Limited Team Leader for the borehole rehabilitation project in the Eastern Region Abdul Majeed said they are expecting to repair 80 boreholes in Balaka West Constituency.
According to Majeed the exercise will be completed next month being march 2023
Pacific Limited embarked on the borehole rehabilitation project in 2015 as part of it’s corporate social responsibility.
A survey conducted by the Limited Company established that the country has a total of 20,000 non functional boreholes nationwide.
To date, Pacific Limited has rehabilitated over 7,500 boreholes nationwide and added trillions of hours to productivity to the nation.
Pacific group of companies has received many awards during the execution of this mammoth task.
