IERA Malawi in collaboration with Taqwa Masjid in Blantyre has organized a lecturer where renowned Muslim orators namely Sheikh Abdur-Raheem McCarthy (عبدالرحيم مكارثي) and Ustadh Adnan Rashid will be the speakers on Sunday, 2nd April , 2023.
According to IERA Malawi, the event is free-of-charge and open to all Muslims across the country.
Sheikh Abdur-Raheem McCarthy is an Irish-American who accepted Islam in 1994 and travelled to Sudan to study Islam. He furthered his studies by relocating to Saudi Arabia to study Quraan, Tajweed, and the Arabic language.
Sheikh McCarthy was then accepted into the Islamic University of Madinah and enrolled into the Arabic Institute and then graduated from the Faculty of Da’wah and Usool Ad-Deen.
Since graduation in 2006 he has become a renowned international speaker lecturing around the world at conferences, events and a presenter on Peace TV, Huda TV and others.
Sheikh McCarthy has worked in the field of Da’wah alongside several prominent Da’wah organizations and in the field of Islamic education teaching Islamic studies in Sudan and Dubai.
Ustadh Adnan Rashid is an international lecturer from the London (UK), who specialises in Muslim History and Islamic Numismatics.
He attained his BA with Honours from Birkbeck College (University of London) and completed his Masters from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, University of London).
Ustadh Adnan Rashid is currently pursuing further studies in London. He has studied hadith sciences and holds Ijazahs (certificates) in that field.
Ustadh Rashid has also debated against high profile Christian theologians and appears occasionally on major media outlets such as the BBC, BBC Asia Network, Islam Channel, ITV (South Africa) etc.
The London based Ustadh has travelled extensively and has conducted history tours to a number of Islamic monuments. He is an avid book collector and also takes a keen interest in studying ancient coins.
Ustadh Adnan Rashid has taught many Islamic history courses internationally. He is currently working on a book about the magnificent Muslim Civilisation
