Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda says government is in push to recover over 8 billion Kwacha that National Bus Services Limited allegedly benefited after acquiring bus depots in the country.
This comes as the High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned hearing of the case as the AG is due to go for an international trip.
Meanwhile, the state has paraded three witnesses in the case with latest one a state-owned liquidator for shire bus line services Hastings Bofomo Nyirenda.
Nyirenda told the court that the process of transferring assets to National Bus Services Limited was unlawful as a liquidator was not involved under requirement by the Public Private Partnership Commission.
He added that the process which was done around 2008 and was done under political powers.
Nyirenda said the state will move the courts for the said amounts to be recovered.
Meanwhile John Kalampa, one of the defence lawyers said their stand remains that the process was legal and was overseen under the mandates of the Public Private Partnership Commission.
