We Masterminded the 233.33% subscription fee hike – Mwalwanda

Responding to questions in the August house, Student Representative Council President Thanks Elia Mwalwanda emphasized that the SRC, not the Director of student affairs (DOSA), conceived the subscription fee hike.

Mwalwanda revealed that the Council considered various options, including K10,000 per semester, before settling on K5,000 as a reasonable amount per semester.

Mwalwanda clarified that the fee hike aims to safeguard the next leadership from previous economic crises, and not to enrich the SRC.
