Mzuzu City residents are extremely overwhelmed with news of professional boxing making a swift comeback, courtesy of Malawi’s premier, Lilongwe-based New Dawn Boxing Promotion.
On December 29, 2024, the newly commissioned Chisanga Complex Centre will host a thrilling ten-round, non-title heavyweight bout between seasoned professionals, Limbani Lano and Brighton Mcheni.
Mike Chimaliza, Managing Director of New Dawn Boxing Promotion, unveiled the exciting lineup of bouts at a press conference held at the Chisanga Complex Centre.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Chisanga Complex Centre, providing a perfect venue for boxing enthusiasts in Mzuzu and beyond,” Chimaliza exclaimed.
The partnership marks a new chapter for boxing in Mzuzu, with Chisanga Holdings Limited Manager Arnold Soko expressing pride in collaborating with New Dawn Boxing Promotion.
“This partnership revives the sport in Mzuzu and reconnects us with our fun lovers including passionate boxing fans,” Soko noted.
The event’s supporting bouts promise to be just as electrifying, with Laston Kayira facing off against Alick John, and David Kafula challenging Ibrahim Lingson.
