In a show of unwavering support and solidarity, courageous women from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have rallied behind Catholic Bishop Thomas Msusa, who has been under attack from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) agents. The MCP agents, masquerading as religious clerks, targeted Bishop Msusa during a press briefing on Thursday, where he expressed his concerns over the commission of enquiry’s report on the plane crash that killed Saulos Chilima and eight others.

Bishop Msusa, known for his unwavering commitment to speaking truth to power, described the report as “incomprehensive and unsatisfactory,” sparking a backlash from the MCP. However, the DPP women, led by National Director of Women Mary Thom Navicha, have come out in full support of the bishop, condemning the MCP’s intimidation tactics.

“We will stand with Bishop Msusa, no matter what,” declared Mary Thom Navicha, speaking on behalf of her fellow DPP women legislators. “We will not let the MCP silence him or intimidate him into submission. Bishop Msusa is a man of God who speaks the truth, and we will support him every step of the way.”

The DPP women’s show of solidarity with Bishop Msusa is a testament to their courage and commitment to standing up for what is right. Despite the MCP’s attempts to silence them, the DPP women remain resolute in their support for the bishop and his message.

The MCP’s intimidation tactics are nothing new, however. The party has a long history of using strong-arm tactics to silence its critics and opponents. However, the DPP women are not intimidated, and they remain committed to speaking truth to power and standing up for the rights of all Malawians.

“We will not be silenced by the MCP’s intimidation tactics,” said Esther Jolobala, a DPP legislator. “We will continue to speak out against injustice and corruption, and we will support Bishop Msusa and others who are brave enough to speak truth to power.”

The DPP women’s support for Bishop Msusa is not just a show of solidarity; it is also a testament to their commitment to promoting justice and democracy in Malawi. The MCP’s attempts to silence Bishop Msusa and other critics are a clear indication of the party’s authoritarian tendencies, and the DPP women are determined to stand up against these tactics.

As the MCP continues to struggle with its own internal conflicts and scandals, the DPP women remain a beacon of hope for Malawians who are tired of the MCP’s corruption and intimidation tactics. The DPP women’s courage and commitment to standing up for what is right are an inspiration to all Malawians, and their support for Bishop Msusa is a testament to their unwavering dedication to promoting justice and democracy in Malawi.

The DPP women’s show of solidarity with Bishop Thomas Msusa is a powerful statement against the MCP’s intimidation tactics and a testament to their commitment to promoting justice and democracy in Malawi. As the country continues to grapple with the challenges of corruption, intimidation, and authoritarianism, the DPP women remain a shining example of courage, resilience, and determination.
