Jumah says violence by party in government recipe for instability

Thugs of the MCP harassing opposition party members with pangas in Lilongwe

By Vincent Gunde

President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, says violence by a political party in government, is a recipe for instability, disaster and war in a country.

Jumah said this is exactly what the MCP is doing in government through its thugs inciting violence by attacking members of opposition parties so that they retaliate in anger for the country to be in instability and war.

He has noted with a grave concern that opposition members have for several times in Lilongwe been hacked with pangas and other offensive weapons under the full watch of the Malawi Police Service (MPS) officers, all the suspects have never been apprehended by police till this day.

Speaking through a Revolutionary voice, Jumah said those who hacked DPP members at the Kamuzu Mausoleum-City Centre, Mbowe filling station on 24th February, 2024, AFOORD supporters at Mponela in Dowa and disrupting peaceful demonstrations, are all free.

Jumah said sadly, when the opposition parties reacted angrily in their rallies by mouth, police rush to arrest them for the offense of inciting violence in the country, DPPs David Chikwanje and Victor Musowa are victims of inciting violence.

He has reminded Malawians of MCP thugs who erected a road block at Mpingu and Msundwe to block and searching each and every vehicle passing through the road if it has carried DPP campaign materials to their rally held at Kamwendo trading centre in Mchinji, the police has done nothing, thugs are enjoying loyalists for being in MCP.

The MRP President said what the MCP knows is that inciting violence is caused by those who are speaking nothing but the truth one such person is being Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa of the Roman Catholic Church-Archdiocese of Blantyre.

He said Archbishop Msusa was preaching to his family members in the church expressing his opinion that he is not satisfied with the commission of inquiry findings on the death of Dr. Chilima and eight others, in the Chikangawa forest that the pictures which came from there and the report itself is not matching.

“Some people in MCP are planning to kill him, what wrong Archbishop Msusa has done to the MCP warranting his life to be under threat and how many Catholic Bishops will the MCP kill in Malawi? Questions Jumah.

He said it was sad that the MCP hired fake pastors and organized a press conference to discredit Archbishop Msusa and the Catholic Church in Malawi reminding the MCP that for them to be in government today, it is because of the same Bishops the MCP conspired to kill them in 1992 when they released their Pastoral Letter.

Jumah said he was expecting that today the MCP being in government was supposed to be the sympathizers of the Roman Catholic Church and Dr. Chilima’s family for losing their members in the tragic plane crash in the Chikangawa forest but they want to close the case by silencing the Catholics with threats not to speak of the death of Dr. Chilima and eight others.
