Gaps in the Tonse Alliance appear to be widening

By Suleman Chitera Apr26,2022

Gaps in the Tonse Alliance appear to be widening as evidenced by the conduct of symphathisers of the political parties which form the alliance, who are not working together. In Mzuzu, where President Lazarus Chakwera has arrived for a number of state functions including inspecting crops in five districts,

followers of Malawi Congress Party MCP and AFORD have mounted party clothes around the Mzuzu roundabout which has been a norm to welcome the Head of State who is also the Tonse Alliance torch bearer. Conspicuously missing is the UTM party cloth and flags which are not part of the hanging as well as absence of UTM followers in the whole set up.

Amongst other engagements President Chakwera will also preside over Installation of Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe in Rumphi district and also Labour day commemorations in Mzuzu on 1st May.
