The 18th Agriculture Fair is underway at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre with a call for players in the agriculture value chain to make the most of the platform in connecting with prospective and current business partners.
Opening the annual event, Minister of Agriculture, Lobin Lowe said Government is embarking on several initiatives including the review of policies to transform the country’s agriculture sector.
“We need to collectively work together towards high-value production and move our focus from solely depending on rain-fed agriculture,” said Lowe.

President for the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), Lekani Katandula, said the fair accords farmers an opportunity to share notes on how best to advance their dealings.
The three-day fair which will end on Saturday, October 8, has gathered over 60 exhibitors. It is being held under the theme”Enhanced Agricultural Productivity for Industrialisation.”
