47-year-old Henry Kanyinji was in a minibus from South Africa to Lilongwe when police nabbed him while hiding 10 rounds of live ammunition in a laptop bag.
Lilongwe Police assistant spokesperson, Alice Sitima says they have since intensified security checks in all road blocks ahead of the festive season.
“When the minibus reached M1 Roadblock at Six Miles, one of the police officers came across 10 live ammunition while searching which were hidden in a small bag inside a laptop bag leading to the arrest of the suspect,” she says.

Kanyinji comes from Vilimumu village, Traditional Authority Kabunduri in Nkhatabay.
