Various denominations in Mzuzu are taking part in joint Way of the Cross Prayers.

The prayers started at the Lutheran Evangelical Church in Katoto, and they are expected to finish the Way of the Cross prayers at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church (Mzuzu Technical College).

The Way of the Cross, also known as the Stations of the Cross, is a devotional practice by some Christians that commemorates Jesus Christ’s journey to Calvary on the day of his crucifixion.

The practice typically involves 14 ‘stations’ each of which represents an event in Jesus’ journey to his crucifixion.
