Opposition Democratic Progressive Party-DPP says it is taking necessary steps to vacate an injunction obtained by one of its members, Fredrick Billy Malata stopping the party from holding National Governing Council-NGC Meeting which was slated for tomorrow in Mangochi.
The party has since announced postponement of the meeting, following the injunction; according to it’s secretary general, Grezeidar Jeffrey.
“The DPP being a law abiding party has complied with the order of injunction and has therefore postponed the NGC meeting to another date to be communicated once all the processes to vacate the injunction are concluded,” says Jeffrey.
Through lawyer, Wapona Kita, Malata obtained the injunction on grounds that people who were invited to attend the meeting were not NGC members elected during the party’s 2018 convention.
