On Sunday, October 20, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) held a significant rally in the Northern Region, led by the party’s Vice President for the region, Honorable Jappie Mhango, Member of Parliament for Rumphi. The gathering took place in Rumphi District, attracting a large crowd of party members and supporters.

During the event, several key figures within the DPP delivered speeches, addressing the party’s plans and vision for the region and the country. Notable among the speakers was the National Director of Youth for the DPP, the respected Norman Chisale, who emphasized the importance of youth involvement in shaping the party’s future.

In addition to Chisale, the Governor for the Northern Region, Hon. Mzomera Ngwira, also took to the podium, calling for unity and resilience among party members as they prepare for future political challenges. His message focused on strengthening the party’s presence in the North and working together to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming elections.

Other senior members of the party’s regional committee were also in attendance, contributing to discussions about the party’s strategy and how it plans to engage with voters across the region.

The rally was seen as a significant step in reviving the DPP’s influence in the Northern Region, and it provided an opportunity for party leaders to reconnect with their grassroots supporters. With growing anticipation for the next election cycle, the DPP is working to solidify its base in the region, ensuring that its message of development and progress reaches every corner of Malawi.

The event concluded with calls for continued support for the DPP as it seeks to regain its position as the ruling party in Malawi.
