PRISAM calls for Police investigations on school violence

Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) has requested the Malawi Police Service to take action against the students who instigated chaos at Michiru and Chisapi Private Secondary Schools leading to destruction of school property.

In an interview with the Malawi News Agency (Mana), President of PRISAM, Dr. Ernest Kaonga, said they were concerned with such unruly behaviours labeling the perpetrators as criminals rather than students.

He highlighted that this destructive behaviour has raised concerns among school authorities and the community at large.

Kaonga further urged the police to disclose the identities of these individuals to prevent them from enrolling in any other private schools.

“This proactive measure aims to safeguard other educational institutions from potential disruptions caused by these troublemakers.

It is essential to maintain discipline and respect for school property, regardless of any disagreements or conflicts that may arise” said Karonga.

He stated that by identifying these students, PRISAM aims to uphold the values of academic integrity and responsibility within the private school system.
