FAM unveils packed 2025/2026 football season calendar

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has released a jam-packed calendar for the 2025/2026 football season, featuring a plethora of exciting tournaments and competitions.

Kicking off the season is the FIFA Women’s International Window, scheduled to take place from February 17 to 25, 2025. This will be followed by the CHAN Qualifiers First Round First Leg, which will run from February 28 to March 2, 2025.

Meanwhile, the TNM Super League is set to kick off on April 5, 2025, with the Airtel Top 8 Quarterfinals First Leg taking place on April 12-13, 2025. The Airtel Top 8 Quarterfinals Second Leg will follow on May 3-4, 2025.

Additionally, the FAM Charity Shield is scheduled for March 29, 2025, while the FDH Bank Cup will kick off with the preliminary round on June 28, 2025. The Castel Challenge Cup will also get underway on August 2, 2025, with the preliminary round.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers will also take center stage, with Malawi set to face Namibia on March 20, 2025, and Tunisia on March 25, 2025. Furthermore, the COSAFA Cup is scheduled to take place from June 4-15, 2025.

In terms of youth development, the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers will kick off on May 9-11, 2025, with the First Round First Leg. The Second Round First Leg will follow on September 19-21, 2025.

Moreover, the National Division League is set to kick off on May 24, 2025, while the Women’s Regional Leagues will get underway on May 31, 2025. The Youth Leagues will also kick off on May 31, 2025.

The packed calendar will culminate in the Castel Challenge Cup Final on January 28, 2026, and the Super League finale on February 21, 2026.

With a plethora of exciting tournaments and competitions lined up, the 2025/2026 football season promises to be an thrilling ride for football enthusiasts in Malawi.
