President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, says President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP have created problems for Malawi which are so huge for Chakwera alone to provide solutions.
Jumah said the country’s economic crisis are calling for decision-making observing that President Chakwera and the MCP mess in government have affected all Malawians regardless of their political party affiliations.
He has advised President Chakwera to swallow his pride to welcome each and every advice as they are constructive criticism with five months to go before the country go to the polls appealing to all Malawians that for the sake of the country, they should join hands with Chakwera to fix the country.
Speaking through a Revolutionary voice, Jumah has given President Chakwera some insights for him to know what to address Malawians in his State of the Nations Address (SONA) such as coming up with concrete measures to end acute shortage of food and fuel in the country.
Jumah has reminded President Chakwera that he told Malawians on the Government to Government talks with the United Arab of Emirates (UAE) on the supply of fuel in the country and trucks to haul the fuel from the main ports in Tanzania are available, till today, there is no fuel.
He has described the Chakwera government as a government of rhetoric since 2022 when President Chakwera assured the nation that early Christmas has come to Malawi with 6.8 million US Dollars from the Bridging Foundation and nothing tangible came out.
The MRP President said President Chakwera introduced the Affordable Input Programme (AIP) to end hunger in Malawi but the hunger has multiplied in five years he has been in power saying a bag of maize is being sold at K85,000 the price which the poor cannot afford.
He said prices of essential commodities are going up each and every passing day without control in shops making many Malawians wondering where their country is going recalling that a chicken which was costing K3,000 in 2020 is now costing K13,000 in 2025.
“Fuel, 1 Litre is going at K10,000 on the black market, the exchange rate is 1 US Dollar toK4,000, speaking for itself that the economy has collapsed,” said Jumah.
He has appealed to President Chakwera to fix the mess he has created in government or else address the measures which his government will use to fix the country economically, politically and social welfare need for an emergency action.
Jumah has told President Chakwera that if people are expecting something for government to do for them and government not doing what they are demanding, they become angry advising him that he should bring hope to the nation by presenting in his SONA accurate measures for the crisis to come to an end in Malawi.
