Sunganimoyo writes an open message to Chakwera

Social commentator Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo (Mbewe Wa Dzalanyama) has written an open message to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera advising him to seek divine wisdom in his decision-making process for his Running mate.

Sunganimoyo has claimed that the message has come from a higher power to give President Chakwera so that his decision should align with the higher purpose of serving the nation “when the divine speaks, we must listen.”

He said while President Chakwera may have already made a choice of his Running mate for the 16th September, 2025 elections, there is still time of urging him to consider choosing someone else within the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

In an open message, Sunganimoyo has claimed that the divine has ordained that President Chakwera will serve two full terms as President of the Republic of Malawi and choosing a Running mate from within the party will help him navigate the challenges ahead.

Sunganimoyo said reflecting on the past 5 years of President Chakwera in power, Malawi has sailed through significant unforgettable events including airplane crash in the Chikangawa forest killing the Vice President Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, cyclones, pandemics and economic crises.

He said these occurrences must serve as a reminder to President Chakwera that the Divine was not pleased with the Alliance which was formed during his first term of office before and after his election into office in June, 2020.

The social commentator said the government of the Alliance was compromised by individuals with evil intentions and a hunger for power which in turn hindered his administration’s progress making others labelling him a failure.

He said to avoid repeating the same mistakes, he is encouraging President Chakwera to choose a Running mate from within the MCP, a person who shares his vision and values to develop this country and not the country remain stagnant as it is being seen today.

“This decision will help you address the nation’s problems without external interference and promote unity within the party-MCP,” reads the message in part.

Sunganimoyo said by choosing someone from within the MCP to be his Running mate, President Chakwera will be able to work with a partner who understands the party’s values and will be committed to his leadership saying this will enable him to focus on lifting up the lives of poor Malawians and driving national development.
