Dr. Michael Usi Urges Monkey Bay Residents to Vote Wisely Ahead of Malawi Elections on 16 September 2025

By Suleman Chitera

As Malawi prepares for the highly anticipated general elections on 16 September 2025, Dr. Michael Usi has sent a strong message to the people of Monkey Bay during his campaign rally. He urged citizens to make wise voting choices, warning that failure to do so could condemn Malawians to continued poverty and suffering.

Usi Warns Against Poor Voting Decisions

Speaking to a large crowd, Dr. Usi emphasized that the future of Malawi depends on the decisions voters make at the ballot. He cautioned that if Malawians repeat the mistakes of the past, they will remain “in hardship forever.”

“If you do not vote wisely on 16 September, you will remain in suffering for the rest of your lives,” said Usi.

His powerful message was met with cheers and nods of agreement from supporters, highlighting the growing political momentum in Monkey Bay and surrounding areas.

Marriage Analogy Sparks Debate

Dr. Usi also used a marriage analogy to drive home his point. He explained that just as it makes no sense for a husband to continue declaring love after a marriage has collapsed, it is equally pointless for citizens to keep supporting leaders who have already failed them.

“When a marriage is already broken, there is no wisdom in a man telling his wife that he loves her. Everything is already gone,” Usi told the audience.

The metaphor resonated with many in attendance, who interpreted it as a direct call to reject leaders who have failed to deliver meaningful change.

Growing Support in Monkey Bay

The rally in Monkey Bay, Mangochi District, is part of Dr. Usi’s wider campaign strategy to win voter trust in lakeshore districts ahead of the elections. His message centered on change, accountability, and the need for leaders who understand the struggles of ordinary Malawians.

Political analysts believe that Usi’s ability to blend humor, storytelling, and serious political messaging could help him connect deeply with voters who feel neglected by traditional politicians.

A Call for Change on 16 September 2025

As the Malawi 2025 elections draw closer, Dr. Michael Usi continues to position himself as a candidate of hope and transformation. His warning to Monkey Bay residents reflects the urgency he places on leadership renewal and the need for Malawians to chart a new path.

With just weeks to go before polling day, the question remains: Will Malawians choose change or continue with the old system?
