He urged citizens to make wise voting choices, warning that failure to do so could condemn Malawians to continued poverty and suffering.

“If you do not vote wisely on 16 September, you will remain in suffering for the rest of your lives,” said Usi.

Marriage Analogy Sparks Debate
Dr. Usi also used a marriage analogy to drive home his point. He explained that just as it makes no sense for a husband to continue declaring love after a marriage has collapsed, it is equally pointless for citizens to keep supporting leaders who have already failed them.
“When a marriage is already broken, there is no wisdom in a man telling his wife that he loves her. Everything is already gone,” Usi told the audience.
The metaphor resonated with many in attendance, who interpreted it as a direct call to reject leaders who have failed to deliver meaningful change.
