A concerned citizen of Malawi who is a Chewa by tribe, has called upon al the Chewas in Malawi to stand on truth saying Malawi is for all not only one tribe claiming that the results that are coming in are clear that MCP and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera have lost the elections.
He said the results that are trickling in various media platforms are clearly speaking for itself that most of the Chewas in the central region of Malawi did not vote on the claims that they did not see the difference between voting and just staying at home for no voting.
The citizen has claimed that many Chewas voted for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and many voted for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika saying it is not surprising that Professor Mutharika is leading and what remain is for Mec to declare him the winner.
Speaking through an audio clip circulating in various media platforms, the concerned Chewa has asked MCP members and supporters to conduct an introspection of what exactly led to the Chewas rejecting to vote for MCP and instead, voting for Professor Mutharika?
He said leadership in the MCP has contributed failure of the party from being voted by millions of Malawians including the Chewas claiming that President Chakwera and his Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda did not listen to the cries of the citizens.Malawi Elections 2025: Unofficial Results Show Arthur Peter Mutharika Leading
The citizen has claimed that many Malawians and the Chewas were not happy with the leadership style of President Chakwera and his Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda for taking people for granted.
He said with elections between mouth and the nose, the country had no fuel, electricity blackouts, no forex, skyrocketing prices of essential commodities without justification, saying all these have contributed to the fall of the MCP and President Chakwera.Professor Mutharika kicks off nomination day at BICC with early morning submission
“If leadership do not listen to the cries of the citizens, the end result has happened with the MCP back to opposition after being in the opposition for 31 years,” said the source.
He said after Mec has declared Professor Mutharika the winner, the Chewas that are the proud owners of the MCP will appeal to President Chakwera and his Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda to step down for the party to start preparations for the 2030 elections.
The citizen has advised President- Elect Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to conduct an introspection on why the same people that voted him and the DPP out of government in June, 2020, are the very same people that have voted for him into government in 2025.
He said the whole nation voted for change and this change has not only come about with the Lomwe people observing that Malawians wanted an alternative leadership to the failed one of President Chakwera advising him that people of the central region are part of his victory.
The citizen has finally advised President- Elect Professor Mutharika to continue with the development projects which were initiated by the MCP and distribute the national cake equally saying Malawians are now expecting more from him and if he does mistakes, he will be booted out in 2030.
