Limpopo FM online radio station has congratulated Hon. Sameer Suleman for being elected Speaker of the National Assembly with an advice to him to lead Parliament for Malawians to trust parliament that it is their House.

Limpopo FM said the 5 years of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP government, Parliament was not an honorable House saying it was a House dominated by MCP influences and no wonder the country had the worst Speaker of Parliament and the worst Leader of Opposition.

The Radio has appealed to Hon. Suleman to demonstrate to Malawians that Parliament is for the people, of the people and by the people so that all Malawians regardless of their party affiliations should forget the previous worse parliament.

Comrade Ntanyiwa behind Nkhanga zaona programme, has also congratulated Hon. Victor Musowa, and Hon. Esther Jolobala for being elected 1st Deputy Speaker and 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament expressing hope that their combination with Suleman, the 2025 to 2030 Parliament will leave a mark in the political history of the country.

He has also congratulated Hon. Jappie Mhango for being appointed Leader of Government business in the House advising him that Malawians are expecting a lot from him and others, in Parliament to initiate development projects that are people-centred.

The activist has sent a special appeal to Hon. Suleman, Hon. Jolobala, Hon. Musowa and Mhango to move a motion for Parliament to adopt Chichewa as a language of communication for parliamentarians to deliberate in the interest of the common man in the village.

He said Malawi is a Chichewa speaking country as a language for communication claiming that most of the MPs who don’t contribute for parliamentary proceedings in Parliament does not mean that they have less educational qualifications claiming that other people are too shy to speak in public.

Comrade Ntanyiwa said Members of Parliament should be given a chance to deliberate in a language that they can express themselves freely either in English or Chichewa for their constituents to follow that their elected member is truly standing for them.

“If Malawi can adopt Chichewa as a language of communication in Parliament, all MPs will be able to participate in the parliamentary deliberations at ease,” he said.

There have been calls from Revolutionary leader of Muvi wa Chilungamo Bantu Saunders Jumah the Utopian to introduce “Chi Malawi” language in Parliament arguing that Chi Malawi will not stand for any tribe unlike Chichewa which is spoken by the Chewa people, but till this day, he has received no response from either government or opposition side.
