Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Fleetwood Haiya has congratulated Super League of Malawi (SULOM) President Major General Gilbert Mittawa on his promotion from Brigadier General to Major General.
In a congratulatory message, Haiya described Mittawa’s promotion as well deserved, saying the achievement reflects hard work, dedication and commitment.
“Congratulations to Super League of Malawi President Gilbert Mittawa on your well-deserved promotion from Brigadier General to Major General,” Haiya said.
Haiya added that achievements of this nature do not come on a silver platter, but are earned through sustained hard work and dedication.
“Wishing you continued success in your new rank. The sky is the limit,” he said.
Mittawa, who currently serves as president of SULOM, has combined his leadership role in Malawi’s top-flight football administration with his career in the Malawi Defence Force.
His promotion has also drawn recognition from the football fraternity, with Haiya joining those congratulating him on the achievement.
