Bwaila Media Club Donates Texts Books To Mpando CDSS

Central region based group of Journalists under Bwaila Media Club have donated 42 brand new text books to Mpando Community Day Secondary School in Dowa district.

Speaking after the donation, the club’s Chairperson, Horace Nyaka said the donation was part of their social responsibility.

“We identify needy schools mostly Community Day Secondary Schools and help them with their needs. Today we have given them Books for Subjects that are getting neglected, government is now focusing on Science subjects and forgetting arts and humanities but we can’t have a country where people don’t read arts and humanities,” said Nyaka.

Apart from the donation of the books the Media Club also planted 105 trees at the school.

On his part, Andrew Debwe Headteacher for the School hailed the journalists for the gesture saying the school was facing shortage of Books problem.

Last year the group donated books to Chadza Community Day Secondary School at Nathenje in Lilongwe.
