Man Impersonates Cabinet Minister In Police Recruitment Scandal, Dupes Recruits MK150,000 Each

Information sourced by this publication indicates a man only identified as Faliopa pocketed Mk150, 000 from over 100 youths in the country with a promise that they will be recruited in the Malawi Police Service (MPS) in the country.

The trickster is said to have impersonated Minister of Homeland Security Jean Sendeza in the whole scam.

Some of the youths are among the newly recruited police officers who have been expelled at Mtakataka and Kanjedza Police Training Schools.

Minister of Homeland Security Jean Sendeza confirmed of the development in an interview the press.

According to Sendeza, police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.

“Police are currently hunting for this man for duping these youths and also denting my name. He was collecting money up to K150,000 [per person],” said Sendeza.

Sendeza added that they are banking on the group to help with more details on Faliopa.

On Monday, over 100 youths were evicted from police training schools.“`
