The lead ruling party (MCP) lawmaker for Kasungu North, Mike Bango, moved a motion asking the August house to a dopt the President’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered last Friday, 17 February 2023, and the same was seconded by Lilongwe East Legislator, Hon Ezekiel Peter Ching’oma.
The mover of the motion stressed that its adoption and subsequent delivery on on the plans therein will improve the country’s economic status as it is aligned with the blueprint vision 2063.
In his speech, Bango was of the view that the house should adopt the SONA owing to the fact that the State President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has been committed enough to, among others, improving educational standards in the country as evidenced by massive recruitment of teachers.
Hon Bango also touched on Chakwera’s acceptance of some challenges rocking the AIP program. Such behaviour is said to be typical for servant leaders who always swallow their prides when need be. According to Bango, Chakwera made it clear that AIP is currently undergoing reformation so as to make it more effective.
On his part, Hon Ezekiel Peter Ching’oma as seconder of the motion highlighted the state president’s commitment to ensuring national food security as evidenced by his administration’s continuation of AIP program. Ching’oma has labelled the SONA as people centered hence the need for its outright adoption
