Arsenal have reportedly made the first move to sign Brighton and Hove Albion star Simon Adingra late in this transfer window, as per Football London.

The Gunners have been very quiet this summer as after making David Raya’s loan move permanent, they have only signed Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna to bolster the backline.

Tommy Setford has also joined the club from Ajax Amsterdam but the 18-year-old isn’t going to be involved in the first-team squad and instead, he is seemingly set to feature for the academy.

The North London club have been in talks with Real Sociedad over the last few weeks to sign Mikel Merino but they haven’t been able to get the deal done yet.

The report further claims that Arsenal have already opened talks with Brighton to learn about the details of signing the forward but they have been informed that the player isn’t up for sale.

So, the North London club will have to offer a lucrative proposal to persuade the Seagulls to cash in on their star man.

Football London says that Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing the African and they have also enquired about the details of signing him.

Adingra, valued at around £26m by Transfermarkt, is a technically gifted player and is efficient in dribbling past opposition defenders in tight areas. Moreover, he can link-up the play, can create chances for fellow attackers and also can finish off his chances.

The Ivory Coast international can play on both sides so he would be able to support Bukayo Saka if he joins the club and that will allow Mikel Arteta to manage the Englishman’s game-time to keep him fresh throughout the season.Liverpool close to deal for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually opt to formalise their interest in signing the 22-year-old before next week’s deadline to reinforce their attacking department.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been more busy trimming down the squad than adding new faces this summer and after already selling Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham, they are also close to cashing in on Eddie Nketiah.Chirwa Turned Down Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Offer
