Two university of Malawi students, Temwa Banda and Harry Chiwoza, have emerged victorious in this year’s final round of the Nyale Institute Moot Court Competition held in the University of Malawi law school court room in Zomba.
High Court Judge Justice Zione Mtaba, while announcing the winners, encouraged Law students to remember the concepts of social justice to address the numerous injustices that require their expertise as future lawyers.
One of the winners Temwa Banda expressed her excitement after overcoming intense competition from the preliminary rounds through to the finals.
“I feel very good, especially considering our initial moot didn’t start very well, and the win is a testament to our hard work,” said Banda.
Chiwoza on the other hand described his collaboration with Banda as the best experience in the competition and expressed his desire to work with her again in the future.
This year’s University of Malawi Moot Court Competition, sponsored by Nyale Institute, focused on safe sexual and reproductive health in public hospitals.
